Oh to be 18

I want you all to know, that thanks to your lovely comments I am feeling a lot better about myself and

my '3' obsession.

Apparently - Good things come in threes.

On this card, I have six layers, one piece of ribbon, the number eighteen and I am entering in four challenges.

Phew! I am feeling so much better that I am off to eat 3 pieces of chocolate - not quite cured yet. lol

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Stampin with the Dragon Anything Goes

Quirky Crafts #13 Handmade Flowers and Ribbon

Let's Ink It Up #24 Favourite Embellishment (definitely these flower dies)

Lollipop Crafts #83 Flowers in Bloom

Congrats - What a Star!

I have a problem.

No, its not my 'obsessive compulsive' thing,

not my 'can't go a day without eating chocolate' thing,

not my 'got nothing to read since I finished all of the Fifty Shades books' thing,

not my 'need a Chai Latte and mixed berry muffin' thing,

not even my 'if I cant colour it I don't want it' thing.

It is a new problem.

It is '3'.

I first noticed it when I decided to use up a whole piece of 12 x 12 paper to avoid

left over scraps and make 'extra' cards  - I made ... 3.

Then there was the recent series of 'guy' cards that I showed you ... 3.

I then purchased the Penny Black stamp set - Hello Gorgeous and guess how many cards

you will be seeing ... 3.

And finally when I look up - how many stars and layers of twine are there! ... 3.

Told you! PROBLEM!!! Not sure if it warrants therapy just yet, but I will keep an open mind.

I am entering this card in the following ... oh no! ... 3 challenges:

2 Sisters #96 Plaids or Stripes

The Poodles Parlour Red White and Blue

Little Miss Muffet #37 Loads of Layers

Cheers - Here's to you!

Part three and final of my masculine digi stash from Digi Stamps Boutique. This card is for my brother who doesn't mind a beer or two. I can already hear our Mum saying - that's enough now, you don't need another one! Funny how you never stop being a Mum.

He didn't actually turn fifty so I had to tweak the card with his correct age before I posted it to him. Or at least ... I think I did ... I hope I did ... I know I meant to ... he hasn't said anything ... good chance that he was focused on the beer. Now if a woman had received a card with the wrong age on it (or an age at all) ... then that might be a different story.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Shopping our Stash Fathers Day or Masculine

Sassy Cheryl's #118 Dads and Grads

Ladybug Crafts #62 Big Birthday

C.R.A.F.T. Challenge #158 Male card Winner

Sweet Stampin' and Stitchin'

This week over at Sweet Stampin' we want to have you in stitches. Pretend stitches or real stitches - we are not fussy as long as you have some kind of "Stitching" on your card.

At Christmas time, I bought myself a cute portable sewing machine - just for card making. It seemed like a good idea rather than get the clunker out every time I wanted to sew a piece of card. (or at least it now feels like a clunker since I got the flashy new portable one)

I know that it has been about 5 months since my actual purchase, but .... I had previously opened the box - to make sure that it was the red one and not the blue one. A little bit superficial, I know. So now, due to this challenge, it was time to throw away the polystyrene foam and look at that instruction book.

So ... reading the instructions - not one of my strong points. Threading the machine - once again, not a skill that I possess easily. Practicing with the stitches to see whether I wanted to use stitch A,B,C,D,E,F or G. And wouldn't you know it - I liked G.

Sew Sweet is our sponsor this week as well as our monthly sponsor, Joanna Sheen. So, provided you don't have boxes to open or instructions to read then there should be no excuse not to join in with this challenge.

Pop on over to Sweet Stampin' and check out the fabulous designs from the team.

A Day to Celebrate

Part two of my masculine digi stash from Digi Stamps Boutique.

What a life, huh!
Sitting on a pier, casting a line, gazing out into the ocean, marvelling at the Pelicans.

I think that I would like to be a fisherman, I mean fisherperson.
Putting those wormy icky things onto that sharp hook, getting tangled up in your line, smelling fish all day, nowhere to plug my hair dryer in. On second thoughts ....

I am entering 'Fishing Stan' in the following challenges:

Happy Birthday Dad

Rain Hail or Shine - my Dad plays golf. That is really lucky because here in Melbourne we can have all of those in just one day. Sometimes even in one hour.

Every Wednesday and every Saturday - without fail, my Dad is out on the golf course. He does however, draw the line at ... lightening. Something about golf stick thingys and flashes from the sky not being a good mix for your health.

This little fella from Digi Stamp Boutique was just perfect for Dads birthday card. He is called 'Golf Stan' and can be found here over at Digi Stamp Boutique along with heaps of other images. Stay tuned because I may have bought a couple more images.

I am entering 'Golf Stan' in the following challenges:

Over at Sweet Stampin' we are flying to the 'Moon and Stars'.
Our sponsor this week is Bugaboo Stamps and they are giving away 7 free digis to a lucky winner.

Also Joanna Sheen, our monthly sponsor has a voucher to give away.
In my part of the world we are heading into Winter, with cold days and lots of rain so I had visions of dark skies and gloomy stars for my card. But, then I saw this cute little Bugaboo image - Boo Peeker - Moon - and all my pre ideas went out the window. Seems to happen to me a lot!
If you need an image to enter this challenge - pop on over to Bugaboo cause as you will see from the Design Team there are lots of different images available and we would love to see you over at Sweet Stampin'.

Sweet Stampin - Flower Power

FLOWER POWER!

I had visions of the 60's (from pictures I have seen of course). Peace signs, daisy chains, long flowing skirts, long flowing hair (for the girls too) and psychedelic colours.

BUT as I was browsing through some of my digital images I came across this little Pure Innocence girl with her pot of flowers .... the very next thing I know I have my pink Copics out and my favourite floral paper and there is not a 'peace' sign in sight - except for the one I stuck to my craft room door saying:

Mum would like some peace and quiet - she is creating.

Pop on over to the Sweet Stampin site and join in our FLOWER POWER challenge this week. The rest of the team have created fabulous cards to inspire you and we can't wait to see your creations too. My Favourite Things are giving away a $25 voucher to a lucky winner and Joanna Sheen has a monthly prize voucher to give away too.

Charisma Cardz #18 Pink and Girlie

Totally Gorjuss #131 Pink and Green

Just Because ... I like to colour

I made this card just because ... I like ... NO! Love ... to colour.

I think that as a child I must have been deprived of colouring. Possibly I only had the 24 and not the 48 set of pencils. Maybe Santa didn't leave enough colouring books in my Christmas stocking. Probably my older sister secretly hoarded all our colouring 'stuff'.

I figure that there must be some deep and meaningful reason for my colouring obsession in my adult years ... and if anyone touches my Copic markers I will lay on the floor, cry, kick my legs and scream. :-)

I am going to enter this card into the following challenges:

Craft us Crazy #26 Fav Stamp Company and/or found inspiration

(Well I found inspiration by using one of my favourite stamp company images)

Sweet Stampin - Anything but Square

I recently received a text from my 20 year old nephew, Ben. It read: "Need card - 1 month - don't ask me anything - not telling you - can pick up tomorrow."

Can you imagine my first thoughts? 1 month what? baby? Don't ask - are you kidding me - I am ringing your mother/my sister! Not telling me what - yes you are!  Pick up tomorrow - it is 10 pm now - do you sleep at all - you have got to be joking!

So after a couple more cryptic text messages and a phone call to Nana (cause she knows everything) I discover that Ben has been going out with Emma for one whole month and he would like to give her a card.

AWWWWW!  HOW SWEET IS THAT!

So... I am on the job. Would she like blue, does she like cute dog images, would she prefer a flower stamp, what about red, is she a yellow girl, should it be really mushy or not too mushy, is there a stamp in the whole world that says Happy one month anniversary. Phew!

Anyway, I managed to gain an extra day and I made 2 cards - both different - and I would gladly show you but apparently he liked them both and I am not sure which one he gave her.

My point - and stick around cause I do have one - is that this week at Sweet Stampin we are having an 'Anything but Square' challenge and our sponsor is Di's Digi Downloads

I saw this image over at Di's and immediately thought ... OMG! it will be 2 months soon!!!

So Ben, if you are browsing my blog (yeah right!) - do not show this card to Emma cause it may be her 'two month anniversary' card from you.

You don't have to have a nephew with a girlfriend to enter this challenge - just pop on over to Sweet Stampin, see what the rest of the Design Team have come up with and join in our fun. Di's Digi Downloads are giving away a $10 voucher to a lucky winner and our regular monthly sponsor Joanna Sheen also has a voucher to give away.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Sadly this is my last post for the Paper Sundaes design team. I have decided to move on, even though I have really enjoyed being a part of this team and I have been constantly inspired by the incredible talent of all the other members. Thank you girls for having me!

Not so sadly, I am looking forward to spending even more time 'blogging' and possibly running a few more card making classes.

This week at Paper Sundaes we are having an 'Anything Goes' challenge and our sponsor is Stamp and Create.

So you know what that means don't you! No requirements, no limits, no end to your possibilities - just have fun, create and join in our challenge. See you there!

Sweet Stampin - Go Girly

It is time for another challenge over at the Sweet Stampin challenge blog. This fortnight we would love you to 'Go Girly'.  But ... there is a catch! No pink! WHAT! I hear you say ... no pink!!! How do you go girly without pink?

Easy!!!

Check out the fabulous inspiration from the rest of the team.

We are sponsored by Pollycraft digi stamps and more, who are very generously giving away five digi images. I have used Cherry Kisses and she was great fun to colour with my 'YR' copics (not a pink in sight)

We also have our fab monthly sponsor, Joanna Sheen who is giving away a voucher to spend at their store.

I managed 3 out of 4 as lace just didn't seem to fit with this style of card :-) Our sponsor this week is Tickled Pink and I have used 20's Lad Luca from my stash of their fabulous digital images. Pop on over to the Paper Sundaes challenge blog to see what the girls there have to show you.

Easter #114

This week over at Paper Sundaes our challenge theme is Easter and we are sponsored by the fabulous Simon Says Stamps. I say fabulous - cause the winner of our challenge will win a $15 voucher to the Simon Says store. I have used CC Designs Easter Emma, a Martha Stewart leaf punch and the rolled flower die from Die-Namics. Plus, because I don't own an Easter word stamp I checked out BrossART addiction and Tracey had some free word digis. You should definitely check out how generous Tracey is.

Our challenge this week at Paper Sundaes is so so so PRETTY.

We are having a Photo Inspiration Challenge and we hope that you will be inspired by this gorgeous image. This photo was sourced from Photo Card Boutique (original source unknown).

Our sponsor this week is Simon Says Stamps who has a fabulous range of products.

I have kept my card fairly simple but check out the amazing creations from the Design Team over at Paper Sundaes.

You'll never know dear, how much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
.... which you will now have stuck in your head for the rest of the day. Go on! Sing it out loud!

Sweet Stampin - Green

It is time for another challenge over at the Sweet Stampin Challenge blog. This fortnight, Team Abi would like you to show us something GREEN, in honour of St Patrick's Day.

We have two Sponsors for this challenge. Our first is our March sponsor Joanna Sheen

and our second sponsor is The Emerald Faeries, who very generously donated the images we used on our cards.

I had convinced myself that this little fairy was a boy fairy until I discovered that its name is 'Ebony'. Not a very blokey name if you ask me. I really don't think that fairies would mind being mistaken for the wrong sex. I think that they are just happy to fly around and ..... (all children look away now!) or at least they would be happy if they were real. Not that I actually thought they were real of course.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Fussy and Fancy #58 Fairies

Simply Create Too #9 Spring

Crafty Sentiments Things with Wings

Pop on over to the girls at Sweet Stampin and check out the fabulous creations. I am off to do some cleaning as there seems to be some glittery sparkly stuff on my pillow.

Feminine Flair #111

This week over at Paper Sundaes our theme is Feminine Flair and we are sponsored by Whiff of Joy. The image I have used is called "Wedding cake" (as if you didn't know).
So ... find your prettiest papers, your most ladylike images and your most girly embellishments and show us your feminine flair.
Then ... all I have to do is to find someone who is getting married to give this card to. :-)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Ladybug Crafts Pink and Girly
Divas by Design #23 Favourite Things (Memory Box Dies)
Crafty Purple Frog #36 Pink and Girly
Allsorts #145 Say it with Flowers
The Squirrel and the Fox #13 Love
Note to self: Press 'publish' if you want to publish a post on time.

Green or Good Luck #110

This week over at Paper Sundaes we are letting you choose between making a Green card or a Good Luck card. I decided to do a Good Luck card coloured in pinks.... but that didn't quite turn out - as you can probably see.

We are sponsored by Simon Says Stamps and I have used Magnolia Watercan Tilda together with CC Design field fence. AND, can you believe it - I even masked my image. Yes the whole post it note, stamp image, cut it out, stick it on, stamp over it, practice on scrap paper first - yes that Masking technique. (Gee do I think that I am clever)

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

PartyTime Tuesday #57 Anything Goes

Charisma Cardz #8 Masking Technique (Winner! $20 voucher from Simon Says Stamps. Yippee!)

Card Makin Mammas #40 Green

Check out the variety of creations that my fellow team members have come up with right here.

Sweet Stampin - Nature

It is time for another challenge over at the Sweet Stampin Challenge blog. This fortnight we would like to you to "get back to Nature". Not literally of course, otherwise we would be called the Sweet Stampin Outdoor Adventure Blog.

We want you to create a project that shows us ... NATURE, in particular, bugs, bees and ladybirds.

Our regular monthly sponsor - Joanna Sheen and our challenge sponsor - Crafty Emmas Store have some great prizes to give away.

I have used my Magnolia Tulip Wheelbarrow and for all of you that have this stamp and just don't remember those ladybirds - no need to run and check - you are right - they are a tucked in extra. My T2, T4 and T6 Copic markers got a good workout with this image and the background paper I have used is from My Minds Eye 'On the Bright Side'.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Magnolia Stamp Lovers Punch challenge

The Cutie Pie Challenge Flowers

Deep Ocean Challenge #20 Spring

Flutterby Wednesday #192 Open

Do you Stack Up #61 Things with Wings

Don't forget to pop on over to the Sweet Stampin blog and check out what the rest of the design team have come up with.

Circles #109

This week at Paper Sundaes our theme is 'Circles'. Fabulous! What a great chance for me to make one of these Telescopey cardy thingys. The whole - put it upside down and attach it together so that it can be the right way up - was a little bit tricky to start with and had nothing to do with the wee small hours of the morning at the time. I found some easy to understand instructions here at barbstamps.com and hey presto - a Telescopey cardy thingy was born. Our sponsor this week is Stamp and Create so off you all go and stamp and create something too. We would love to see you over at Paper Sundaes.

I am entering this Telescopey cardy ... (you get it) in the following challenges:

Birthdays #108

This week, Paper Sundaes are having a 'Birthday' challenge sponsored by Lili of the Valley.

Luckily, I do just happen to own a few of these images. If you follow my blog you will know that "a few" in my world can mean anything from three onwards. (Even 19 or 38 or 74 can be considered 'a few').

So, lets just assume that I had a selection of images to choose from.

Milly - Just for You stood out as being perfect for this paper from the My Minds Eye paper pad - On The Bright Side with my favourite colours (this month) of Orange and Teal.

I hope that you will join us at Paper Sundaes with your Birthday creations.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Sweet Stampin - Bingo

This fortnight over at Sweet Stampin we are lucky enough to be sponsored by Crafts and Me

... and we have a BINGO challenge.

Choose any three - across, up, down or diagonal and create a card (pssst - don't forget to tell us which three you have used)

I have used the Crafts and Me image called Deevonne as well as Lace, Ribbon and Pearls. It goes without saying of course that I have coloured with my Copic markers and the flowers are from Hooked on Craft.
Take a look here to see the fabulous creations the rest of the team have come up with.

Clean and Simple #106

At Paper Sundaes this week - our theme is CLEAN AND SIMPLE and we are sponsored by
Simon Says Stamps.

It looks like I am in a bit of a 'rut' by using the same stamp as my previous post - but it is only because I like this little Ribbon Tilda so much and I just needed to colour her again. Plus, she is perfect for all the Valentine challenges there are at this time of year. And even though - as my daughter pointed out - she has no mouth, (thanks for letting me know) I can actually see her smiling. No! not like the Emperors clothes - I know that he really was in his underwear :-)

Check out the other Clean and Simple cards from the rest of the Design Team and join in with this fun challenge. See you over at Paper Sundaes.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Sweet Stampin - Love

Thank you so much to Karen, the Hooked on Craft challenge co-ordinator and the fabulous Design Team. I had lots of fun creating for challenges and the Hooked on Craft on line store has such great products to work with. Loooove those flowers!!! Over at the Hookedoncraft challenge site they are currently having a DT call so that they can add some more happy faces to their fabulous team. Head on over, submit a card and let them know you are interested.  It definitely is worth it!

Now ... I have joined the team over at Sweet Stampin. The girls over there very generously accepted me into their 'challenge' family. No! I didn't say challenging family - I am sure they are all very nice ;-)

This fortnight our theme is THE ONE I LOVE and our sponsor is Stamp and Create. I have used Ribbon Tilda and coloured her with my Copic markers.

Valentine's #105

My partner thinks that I am hard to buy for - I don't have a single clue what he means - I am sooooo easy.

Take Valentines day for instance! I would be perfectly happy with a dozen red roses. All the florists will have them. They will even have a little gift card that he can buy and sign while he is there. He doesn't even have to think that much (maybe that is his problem - he is overthinking the whole gift thing) Keep it simple I say. Roses, chocoloates, diamonds. I am so easy to buy for!!!!

'Valentine' is the theme for our challenge this week at Paper Sundaes. Tickled Pink are our sponsors and they have some fabulous new images. Check out what the other girls have come up here - they are truly pieces of art. I have used Lil Valentine Lad Luca with my Martha Stewart heart punch and a dozen red roses and that cute little heart charm from Hooked on Craft.

PS: If you commented on my Paper Sundaes Blog Hop then don't forget to check my post below to see if you are a winner of my blog candy.

Blog Hop candy winners

As you know - at Paper Sundaes we recently celebrated our second birthday. Happy Birthday to us ... Happy Birthday to us ... sorry - I get off track easily.

Anyway, some members of the design team had their own personal candy to offer to one lucky person who left a comment on their blog. (me! me! me! I did!).

So, I thought about trying to get that 'linky' thing onto my blog so that I could say "and the random winner as chosen by Mr Linky is ..." and then I had another thought - why did I have children? One of the reasons must have been to have them unbiasedly select a number at random. I mean, I have always wanted to say "Here kids, pick a number" and they do!

So, therefore, no Mr. Linky for me just two children, two numbers and two prizes for two lucky winners. (Luckily for me, I didn't have six children)

The first number is 53 as chosen by my son .... Congratulations to Cardsbymo

The second number is 72 as chosen by my daughter ... Congratulations to Debs from Especially for You
If you gals would like to email me by Sunday the 29th January - I can arrange to send your goodies to you.
Thanks kids!
Thank you all again for your lovely comments.

Hooked on Something Bright #16

Hookedoncraft is having a 'Something Bright' challenge. It is to go with the lovely summery weather that we are having at the moment. No really - we are. I know that I can complain about the weather here in Melbourne occasionally, but at the moment we are enjoying lovely summer days. So wherever you are - in whatever sort of weather - get out those bright papers and those bright embellishment and enter in our challenge.

Plus Hookedoncraft is also having a design team call so get those entries in and add DT after your name and you could be lucky enough to be chosen to be on this fabulous team.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Shopping our Stash #35 Across the Border (this border was made with the throw away part of a zig zag die)

4 Crafty Chicks #73 Summer in January (cause it is where I am)

Raise the Bar #88 Ring in the New Year/Circles (I made those bubbles with dimensional magic)

Ooooops! forgot to mention that this cute whale image comes from the Hooked on Craft on line store and you can find him here as well as lots of other stamps and embellisments.

Paper Piecing #104

First of all - Thank you so much to all of those who joined in our Birthday Bog Hop at Paper Sundaes. I hope you all enjoyed 'hopping around' and collecting our secret sentence. Thank you all for your lovely comments.

I have some candy to give away to a random commenter on my blog which I will draw shortly, keeping in mind the whole time difference thing here in Australia and I am probably asleep while you are reading this. Thank goodness that I mastered the "scheduled post" thingy - stay tuned!

This week at Paper Sundaes we are sponsored by My Favourite Things and the challenge is for you to use your Paper Piecing skills. After I finished my card - I had a major panic attack - was the challenge Piecing or Piercing? Luckily for me - I was right with the 'Piecing'. I figured that I could easily fix my mistake if I needed to, by just poking some holes in my card. On second thoughts - maybe not a good look.

I have used paper from my new Basic Grey 6 x 6 Picadilly paper pad and the little cutie

is called Flower Girl from here at MFT.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Ladybug Crafts #52 Bows

Crafty Sentiments Anything Goes

Birthday Blog Hop #103

Make a cuppa - settle in - we are having a Birthday Blog Hop!!!! Yes! that is right - Paper Sundaes are celebrating their second birthday and we are giving presents to YOU.

We have fabulous sponsors this week, including Elisabeth Bell, Simply Betty, My Favourite Things, Bugaboo, Stamp and Create and Tickled Pink.

It is easy to join in with our hop. All you have to do is:
1. Follow the links to each Team member
2. Comment on each blog as you go
3. Collect a secret word from every Design Team member
4. Arrive back at Paper Sundaes and leave the secret sentence in the hop post.

Plus, individual candy will be offered along the way from our Design Team members. I have a mystery bag of goodies to give away and I will randomly select a winner from among the people that comment on my blog hop post, at the close of the challenge.

You should have arrived at me safely thanks to Christine and your next stop now is onto Julie.
Don't forget to take with you my secret word - Paper.

This weeks challenge is:  Pick a previous challenge.

I have chosen our 100th challenge - Celebrate.

I have used the My Favourite Things A La Mode image called Time to celebrate as well as Dienamics Mini tab, Mini Rolled roses and Doily Duo together with some My Minds Eye papers.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:
