Paper Sundaes #84 Magnolia

This week at Paper Sundaes we are sponsored by Stamp and Create. They are stocking the new Winner Takes All Magnolia range so we thought that we would celebrate 'Maggie'. Any excuse to use our Magnolia stamps.
On this card I have used flowers from Hooked on Craft, paper from Kaisercraft, lace and ribbon from Green Tara, punch by Martha Stewart, a Dienamics die, a Just Right word image, some gemstones, some glitter and ... Copic markers. Oh and also there is a Magnolia image.
You should see my work space!!!!!
On second thought - I am glad that none of you can see my work space. If I sit at my desk - I dont think that anyone would be able to find me next to all the STUFF!!!
Now there's an idea! (LOL)
Check out all the inspiration from the other girls here while I go and see if I can actually disappear for a little while.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Hooked on Things with Wings #6

Things with Wings - that is the challenge this fortnight over at Hookedoncraft challenges. I have chosen this cute owl stamp and flower from the Hookedoncraft on line shop.

Owls are a bit of a favourite of mine. I love the "Dont bother me, I'm resting" sort of attitude that they have. I have been trying to perfect that look for years with my kids but I just can't seem to manage it. Or ... maybe I have perfected it and they just ignore me.
I am just going to have to learn to 'Hoot' louder.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Aud Sentiments #35 Anything Goes
Shopping our Stash #13 Weakest link (have to be flowers at the moment)
Flutterby Wednesdays #167 Use punches (those leaves are from my Martha Stewart leaf punch)

The prize this fortnight is a $10 voucher to the Hooked on Craft on line store. So check out the other design team members for some inspiration and join in the fun.

Paper Sundaes #82 Just Saying Hi

This week over at Paper Sundaes the challenge is
"Just Saying Hi"
and our sponsor is Pink Cat Studio.
Pink Cat Studio have some fabulous stamps and digital images. This image is 'Betty holding flowers'.
One of the best things about these images is that they are so clear and simple and just perfect to colour with my Copic markers (or even your Copic markers).

I recently purchased 'Copic Colouring Guide' by Colleen Schaan and Marianne Walker and in the intro to the book it says that:  "The act of colouring itself becomes a meditation that relieves stress, relaxes the body and clarifies the thought process".
Well at the moment I am super relieved, incredibly relaxed and amazingly clarified 'cause I have 16 images of Betty all coloured differently.
Looks like quick and easy pasta for dinner - again .... (he he)

Pop over to Paper Sundaes and see what the other girls have come up with - amazing as usual.

Just swingin' by

I really miss swinging! I wish I had a dollar for every hour that I spent on our swing as a little girl.
I miss that - not a care in the world - where your only decision was either: will I go higher, will I spin around or will I try to touch the fence.
So on my manic day of dropping kids off, food shopping, picking kids up, driving in the rain, cooking dinner between deliveries and putting on a load of washing  - I would really like to do some swinging.
But...
I have realised - it is not the same without an actual swing.

This adorable image is from Lili of the Valley and I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Hooked on Sweet Treats #5

Sweet Treats - Yes please! I would say that I am a little partial to the odd piece of chocolate. Maybe that is not quite true ... what I meant to say was that
I NEED CHOCOLATE EVERY DAY!!!!
Just the other night I baked a batch of brownies - (say that fast 20 times) - and so it was really easy for me to get into this challenge at Hookedoncraft this week. (Luckily there is not a chocolate smudge on my card - although YOU can't see the back).
Both the image and the doily are from the Hookedoncraft on line shop and the papers are from My Minds Eye Life of the Party paper pad. Check out the hookedoncraft challenge blog to see what yummy things the other girls have come up with AND don't forget to join in!

The Paper Sundaes challenge this week is sponsored by Tickled Pink and we have a sketch for you all to follow. Check it out here. The image I have used is 'Christina' from Tickled Pink and the papers are from the 'American Made' range of My Minds Eye.
I have just recently bought myself a pair of mid length black boots, which I had been looking for for ages, so all I need now is Christinas hair, figure and spunk and you wont be able to tell us apart. I will be the one without the red glasses :)
Check out the fabulous creations from the rest of the team over at Paper Sundaes.

Paper Sundaes #80 Clouds

This week over at Paper Sundaes we are having a "Cloud" challenge sponsored by Letraset. I had great fun making this card. I used two sizes of the Fiskars cloud punch and attached 7 of them to a long strip of card. That way you can move the clouds so that each layer doesn't have to line up perfectly. I sponged along the edge of the cloud template onto my white cardstock using Distress ink Tumbled Glass and Voila! clouds. So teamed with this cute Lili of the Valley stamp and grass and banner die cuts and Voila! again.
You should definitely have a go at making clouds - the template even works if you use different size circle cut outs and attach them to a strip.
Check out Paper Sundaes blog to see what the other girls have come up with.

Thank you all so much for your well wishes. This cold/flu/sinus thing is really hanging around me and I am very sick of myself. Plus it has been very hard to look at all your blogs and leave comments when my eyes keep wanting to shut and my pillow is calling me.
I have decided that I am going to use the power of positive thinking and get better now! I said now! I mean NOW! and possibly just a few drugs just in case that positive thingy doesn't work.  ;)

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Paper Sundaes #79 Summertime

There needs to be a 'rule' that women should not get sick. Kids - we can look after. Men - we can sympathise with, sort of.
BUT how can I possibly cook dinner, make cards, clean the house, make cards, go to work, make cards, pick up the kids and make cards when my body is telling me "lie down - lie down - lie down"?
I am definitely reviewing that rule book :)

This week at Paper Sundaes we are having a Beachy/Summertime theme sponsored by Michelles Scrapbooking and More. It did cheer me up to sift through my bright and colourful papers and my summery stamps and create a card that reflects what I am dreaming of during our cold Melbourne winter.
Check out all the great products at Michelles and also take a look at all the inspiration that the rest of the design team have given you over at Paper Sundaes.

Just a bit of advice from a still sniffly woman - don't attempt to put a bow on a card while you are not well. The bow on this card took me longer to tie than it did to make the card.
So, while you are all doing a "Where's Wally" search for the bow, I will retrieve it from the rubbish bin and try again when I am feeling better. Have a good and healthy week all.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Paper Sundaes #77 Paper Piecing

What another great challenge this week over at Paper Sundaes. Who wouldn't like these super cute images from Heather Ellis Pure Innocence range! They are so clean and simple and their outfits are perfect for paper piecing - as you will see when you visit the Paper Sundaes blog and check out the cards made by the rest of the team.
I never thought that I would still be cutting, pasting and colouring at my age. And loving it!
The paper is from My Minds Eye, the white flower is a Cherry Blossom from Hooked on Crafts, the border punch is from Martha Stewart and everything is coloured with Copics (even the flower spray).

Paper Sundaes #76 Stitching

It arrived, yay! it arrived - or perhaps I should say - They arrived, yay! they arrived. My new Lili of the Valley stamps from the latest collection. Did you really think that I had just ordered one? Lili of the Valley have such adorable images and "Milly Just for You" is my favourite (this week).
What an amazing coincidence that Paper Sundaes are having a 'Stitching' challenge sponsored by LOTV this week. You should check out what the other Sundae girls have done - fabulous!

The funny thing is that, as I ripped the envelope from the letterbox saying "Let this be Lili, let this be Lili, let this be Lili" - my daughter commented "How many other parcels are you expecting Mum?" Oooops!
Note to self: Stop talking out loud!

Summer Lovin'

Summer Lovin! Well ... I am not so sure about that. The temperature here in Melbourne today has been about 16 degrees celcius (approx 60 degrees F). Not exactly favourable for any sort of summer 'sport'.
But, I have been very inspired by all of the 'Summer' challenges on at the moment. So, I turned the heating up to 22C (72F) put on a T shirt and made this card.
The family have been complaining about how hot the house is, but I simply replied "Take off some layers - can't you see that I am making a card" They just don't seem to get the connection.
You all understand. Don't you?

Paper Sundaes - Sundae Bar

Together with our sponsor for this week - Stamp and Create - Paper Sundaes are having a 'Sundae Bar' challenge. Just use two or more of the following: purple, gems, paper piercing and wings.
When you look at my card the purple should be fairly easy to see, the gems are some of the raindrops (not so easy) and the wings are the butterflies. The paper piercing - I didn't quite manage - although I could claim that the dot paper is self made pierced dots - but that would be a big big fib!
Check out the rest of the design team at the

Just for you Dad

I am so incredibly organised!
Stop laughing!
Unfortunately I can't take all the credit. The UK have recently celebrated Fathers day then the US is next but Fathers day in Australia is not until the first Sunday in September.
I am not complaining - it just means that I have my Fathers day card all made and ready - clever huh!
Now all I need to do is to pretend that Christmas is in March, Easter is in November and Halloween is in July and I would be set for every other occassion. Off to make cards on this lovely Tuesda.... ooops I mean Thursday. What day is it?

This very cute image is from Annabelle Stamps and I am entering this card in the following challenges:

Paper Sundaes - Girly Girl

The challenge at Paper Sundaes this week is to create a Girly Girl card - super easy! Who am I kidding? This card started off just pink and then it became red with a bit of aqua - and finally when I was happy with the design of that card - I changed it all back to pink and added heaps of green.
BUT, looking at the positive side .... hang on .... I'm thinking ... Oh I know! I now have lots of bits of cut up card and paper to use for another card. I hope there is a 'patchwork' challenge coming up somewhere soon. LOL.

The easy thing was choosing an image from our sponsor, My Favourite Things as I just happen to have quite a few of these really cute stamps to choose from.

I am also entering this card in the following challenges:
Do you stack up #23 Birthday
Aud Sentiments #30 Summertime (notice 'warm' wishes)

Now - your challenge is to whip up a Girly Girl card in less time than it took me - not hard - and enter it into this weeks Paper Sundaes challenge.

A Sideways Step

Bugaboo have some fabulous images - so fabulous that sometimes you don't even have to colour them. They look fine just on their own. I know I know I know - you are shaking your heads and saying "What!!!! Jenny hasn't coloured!" (okay maybe you are not saying that at all) But just in case you are saying that - dont worry, I just decided to step sideways from my comfort zone and I was quite pleased with how it turned out.

Paper Sundaes - Sentimental

This week over at Paper Sundaes we are having a 'Lets Get Sentimental' challenge with Whiff of Joy as our fabulous sponsor. I love this image of Willow with Coffee. She is so very chic and trendy.
She reminds me of me when I was ... DREAMING! LOL.
I do love the message that she sends - "Hey friend, lets get together for a coffee and chat soon." I can think of lots of people that I like to say that to.
Head on over to Paper Sundaes and see all of the other cards by our wonderful design team and check out the many irresistable Whiff of Joy stamps. Dont forget to enter the challenge too.

Men Rule! ... ???

Men Rule! Well actually - No. Just at the moment they seem to be ruling over my blog. My last post was Steampunk Luca and now, here is my golfing buddy from Karens Doodles. As soon as I saw him - I had to have him. My Dad is a golfing nut! He plays without fail every Wednesday and every Saturday - rain hail or shine! Yes, he is one of those golfers! This picture does not show how he plays (cause he is pretty good) but it probably shows how he feels some days. Oh a man on a bad golf day! :-)

Paper Sundaes - Vintage Luca

Is there an old saying that says "Try something new - you might like it"? Well if there's not, then there should be, because I DID and I DO! I did try it and I do like it. 'Vintage' wasn't a style that I naturally leant towards but you may find me falling all over it from now on. I really enjoyed using these subtle coloured papers and embossing those chipboard cogs. Plus, I loooved colouring in Luca with Copics that have not seen much action before.

This week over at Paper Sundaes we have a Vintage/Shabby Chic theme. Tickled Pink are our sponsors and they have some fabulous Vintage images. Here I have used Steampunk Lad Luca but there are heaps of others to see. Have a look at the Paper Sundaes challenge blog to see the other creations by our fabulous design team.

Too much ribbon?

Do I really need as much ribbon as I have? Do I really need to buy more? Do I really need every shade of every colour - just in case?
And the answer is: YES I DO.
Luckily for me Shopping Our Stash are having a - use your ribbon challenge. I have been wanting to make one of those twisty curly flowery things for ages. You know the ones - put some tape down on some card, make a knot and place it in the centre then twist and curl and twist and curl and twist and curl (like we did last summer, come on, let's twist again, like we did last year!)
Oooops - back on track now.
It hasn't really made a dent in my ribbon collection but I will work on that.

Paper Sundaes - Pop It Up!

The challenge this week over at Paper Sundaes is to - Pop it up! and so I did. I 'popped' Tilda, the cherries, the butterfly, the words and finally the card. Do you think I got a little bit carried away :-)
I had such fun making my first card as a DT member for the Paper Sundaes Challenge blog. I hope that you will all 'pop' over to Paper Sundaes and see the fabulous cards the rest of the team have made.
I will just sit here and breathe a sigh of relief that the first one is done. Phew!
The Magnolia image is called "Cherry Tilda" and the papers that I used were from the Kaisercraft range Nan's favourites. You can find them both here at Michelle's Scrapbooking and More - our sponsor for this week.

A quiet week?

It probably appears that I haven't been doing anything all week - re: lack of blog posts - but just the opposite. Three class cards, one challenge card, a birthday card for a friend and another card for a friends friend and now I am ready for a ... shoulder massage.  My partner, Rich is on night shift this week and doesn't sleep all that well during the day so he is walking around like a sleep deprived new mum. I don't like my chances of getting that shoulder massage from him. I am entering this card in the following challenges cause he may be sleep deprived but I am challenge deprived.

A Great Day

This morning it was just a bit chilly for me to get out my strappy little summer dress like Miss Marci here. It was a very cool 5 degrees celcius when I went to collect the newspaper from our frosty lawn.  There seems to be some confusion between Autumn and Winter here in Melbourne. Let me set you straight - Autumn is the falling leaves, fine days and chilly nights season - nothing there says anything about 5 degrees when I wake up. If someone could just fix that - I would really appreciate it.

The Importance of Shopping

My Mum would have a giggle at this cause we have done our fair share of shopping together. And - it is a fact that shopping is a learned skill!! I know that for sure because not everyone can do it well. It is important to have a good role model to learn from.
Thanks Mum!
Gave that paper piecing thingy another try.

Such a Sweetheart

I had a 'Princess party' at my house last Friday night with my crafting pals. I won't claim that I made this card on that night as most of us were glued to the TV to watch "The Wedding". I did think that this colour scheme and love heart banner just seemed to 'fit' the mood this week - with lots of photos of the happy couple in the paper and on the front pages of every magazine.
Too bad that this little Sweetheart Marci doesn't have a handsome Prince to kiss ;)
I have entered this card in the following challenges:
Crafty Cardmakers #44 Red White and Blue
Party Time Tuesday #13 Anything Goes
Top Tip Tuesday #31 Square
as well as the LaLa customer gallery

Darling Marci

Thanks heaps to Susan from Stamp on Me who gave me the inspiration to create this circle card using this cute image, Darling Marci from La-La Land Crafts . Susan has a tutorial on her blog that you should pop over and have a look at. It even shows some paper piecing that I didn't quite get to - I was having too much fun with my Copic colouring. I have a few more La-La cards to post so stay tuned - please :)
I am entering Miss Marci into the following challenges:
C.R.A.F.T challenge #99 Flowers (cause there are some there)
Delicious Doodles #22 Anything Goes (My favourite type of challenge)
Crafty Pad #118 Circles (Done that!)
Craft your Passion #55 Show us your layers (I'm showing you)
Creative Inspiration #58 Use a digi (That's Miss Marci)
Paper Sundaes #66 Sparkle and Yellow (Duh!)
Stamptacular #108 Pile it on (Again with the layers)
Ellephantastic #25 Anything but square or rectangle (Will circles do?)
and I am also uploading her to the La La Land gallery and Copic Australia facebook page (I sound confident, don't I? I may have to ask my teenagers for help on that one)

Dream Big

Now this is a card that I just made. No more of those "had it for a while" cards (well maybe I have got a couple more of those stashed away). I love colouring these Kenny K images with my copics. Actually I love colouring anything with my copics.
The dog better watch out or he might have highlights soon. LOL.
This week Kenny K have an "Anything Goes" challenge #41,
Flutterby Wednesday #151 and
Top Tip Tuesday #30 both have "Open" challenges and
Incy Wincy have a Bright and Bold challenge #90

Find Joy Every Day

This image makes me think of a Spring day. I am sure that only Snow White or Cinderella actually had birds come and 'willingly' land on them while they were singing a tune and dancing amongst the flowers on a sunny day.....  and obviously this little girl from Pure Innocence too.
Another card that I made a while ago - just waiting for a 'Spring' Challenge so I will enter it in the following:
Totally Papercrafts #62 Springtime
Card Makin Mammas #19 Spring Colours
Cupcake Craft #138 Lots of Layers
Incy Wincy #90 Bright and Bold
Do you Stack up #15 Scallops

Hello Friend

So far, April has been a busy month for me. A son who turned 18, a niece who turned 22 and close friends who also keep having birthdays. Not that I mind - any excuse to raise a glass and make a card is okay with me.
Note: Be careful of wine drinking and card making at same time.
Plus, I have been planning classes for this coming term. I did say 'planning' but not actually 'making'. Must get onto that!!! I know what will happen - I will have the perfect card planned in my head, sketched out on my notebook and when it finally comes time to put it together - Euck! So then back to the drawing board. Does that happen to anyone else?
I made this simple card a few weeks ago now (love doing that poking holes technique thingy) and thought that I would enter it into a few Easter challenges.
C.R.A.F.T #98 Easter
Delightful Sketches Easter
Simply Create #41 Egg-tra Special
Belli Challenge #115 Eggs/Bunnies
Crazy Challenge #62 Easter
