Guess what I did?

Guess what I did on Monday? I coloured in!!! I can hear you asking - Why is that different from any other day? But this time I was part of the Intermediate Copic Certification Course run by X-Press Graph-X with the fabulously talented Mandi-Lee. This was the first Intermediate class in Australia. A group of 20 of us spent the day learning more about shadows, shading, skin tones, composition, design and even ambient light (how professional sounding is that!) and much much more. We learnt so much and in such a relaxed way and ... we were allowed to colour in! Bonus! Here is my Certificate which I very proudly display here on my blog. So now I am off to re- read that manual and practice practice practice. Ohhh well... if I must.

Angled just right!

Sue from My Inner Reflection inspired me with her ribbon on an angle, so I thought that I would give it a go.
I had three matching ribbons in my ribbon box and all I needed was some matching bazzill, some matching inks and some matching copics - all to tie in with the colour scheme of the ribbons.
Then... the other day I bought an inexpensive turquoise coloured bangle - very nice - and then realised that I had nothing in my wardrobe that matched it. So a handbag and an outfit later and that bangle didn't seem so cheap any more.
Next, I am planning to buy myself a Porsche key ring - cause I am on a roll.

What Luck!

Green is certainly the flavour of the month out there in 'challenge land'. For this card I was trying to work out how to make a four leaf clover to add that extra 'touch' - cut it freehand, four punched hearts joined together, clip art - when I looked in my punch drawer and I actually have a four leaf clover punch. I couldn't believe my luck! Who has a four leaf clover punch??? I can't remember buying it. I can't remember if I have ever used it before and I can't think why I would have ever wanted one. Not that I am complaining because it was the good luck that I needed to symbolise 'good luck'. Fancy having something that I have never used. ;-)
Now what else is in that drawer .....

Just a thought!

Sometimes, don't you just want to sit down in the middle of all the kaos and close your eyes? Just a little nap occassionally is all I ask. Come to think of it - the laundry may be the perfect place for me to have said nap. I could be fairly guaranteed that no-one is going to bother me where there is a chance that they might be asked to collect their dirty clothes, to hang out a wet load or sort through some socks. Note to self: Don't bother making a cup of tea and sitting with your latest book in order to get a few minutes of peace (not going to happen) - go into the laundry and bury yourself in the ironing. Also arrange for a lock on the door  - because just my luck someone will actually need something ironed. (LOL)
I am entering this card in the following challenges:
Club Anya #58 Sketch
Card Makin Mammas #16 Green
Fussy and Fancy Embossing &/or paper piecing

Tomboy Birthday

I HAD to have this paper and I had every intention of making a 'man' card. But things change - my Kenny K girly images were calling me and so it ended up to be a card for that not so girly girl.
I am entering it in Stamps R Us #15 For the Girls challenge and Card Makin Mamas #15 Happy Birthday challenge.
Got to go - I can hear my Copics calling me now.
